The 84-Year Cycle: Astrology, Value & the Changing World Order with Sarah Basha

In this episode of our Big Shifts astrology series, Sarah Basha and I do something a little different. Rather than focusing primarily on the personal or psychological implications of a particular transit, we use the completion of Uranus’ 84-year cycle as a frame for a much broader exploration of the moment we find ourselves in.

What follows is less about prediction and more about exploration and using astrology as one lens through which to ask questions about history, value, resources, power and what may be changing. We begin with reviewing Chiron’s movement from Aries into Taurus and Uranus moving into Gemini, before looking back 84 years to the emergence of the post-war world order and exploring the idea that history may spiral rather than simply repeat. From there, we move through decentralization, geopolitics, how money is created through debt, the changing role of the petrodollar, and the ways our economic systems have shaped our understanding of human value.

We explore what might emerge as those structures change, from gift economies and community-based resource sharing to new definitions of wealth, value and resilience. Ultimately, this is an invitation to stay curious, to better understand the systems we live within while imagining what value might look like beyond productivity and monetization.
